what a fantastic (and relaxing) sunday! one of T's friends had rented this amazing home at folly beach. {above} i felt very lucky to get inside - it has been featured in charleston magazine and it was like walking into a dwell magazine spread. fantastic! the view from the roof was amazing - as long as i remembered not to look down. {below} a couple of glasses of wine on the porch was exactly what the doctor ordered yesterday after a wonderful morning bike-ride downtown.
after that, i really lucked out as i got to tag along while T and his friend (a conservator) made a visit to one of the most important homes on the battery. dating to the 18th c., this home was definately full of ghosts - and my all-access visit (the owners were gone!) was probably a once-in-a-lifetime chance. to wander around and get to stick my nose right up against some of the treasures in there was so much fun! from a 21st c. green beach house - to the heart of charleston history - it was a very full day of design from one side of the spectrum to the opposite.
